Rumors

Remember when Tom Barberi was talking on 97.5fm? The "younger" talk radio? He's not there anymore. No one is there. You can listen right now to some early Christmas music. Or you can bide your time until the station begins its new Christian music program. Yeah, Christian music.

Oh c'mon Ethan, Mormons love "normal" Christians don't they?

Another winning idea in Salt Lake radio.

Speaking of that how's the Nightside show?

106.5 used to play "Christian" and LDS music from 7-1200 AM on Sundays.

Now, they play LDS music from 5AM-5PM on Sundays.

Ethan,

Did Simmonds Comm sell the station? or realized that Mad Cow, Tom B, Jerry Doyle, etc could not compete with KNRS, KSL lineup of Lonnsberry,Rush and Doug Wright and Hannity respectively?

Barberi was way overrated in certain circles. He was more whiny than funny and his Utah Sucks shtick got old about twenty years ago. Here's to a happy retirement.

I love Christmas music, but I prefer to wait until after Thanksgiving to indulge in it. The fact that stations are broadcasting it in September ... well that's just -- AARRRGH!

Growing up with Barberi was a treat. I always enjoy Tom's take on life, but feel he was in the wrong slot, and format.

I disagree with Mr. Corn, I hope Barberi finds a new slot.

I don't know anyone that calls Mark Towner "mustang" but himself.

I'm so bummed that Tom is no longer on the radio. And even if you think he's whiny, you have to admit that Tom has a more interesting, rational radio show than just about everyone else on KNRS and KSL. Tom will tell it like it is. I don't like listening to Doug Wright because he tries too hard not to offend anyone, and I'd rather slit my wrists than listen to Bob Lonsberry (who broadcasts his "local" show from New York anyway).

Tom is great, but I'm enjoying Nightside on KSL too.

On second thought, you want to fight? I'll fight you. I've been trained in CIA ninja moves on the streets of El Paso. I'll mess you up. I can kill you with a single kick. Why do you think that one guy a long time ago called me Mustang?

You are messing with one of the most dangerous people in the state. I'll beat you down. Then I'll crush you politically. Then, and only then, will I call my lawyer who will find out who you are and shut down your ability to express opinions until I give you permission. I OWN you.

You just name the time and place tough boy. I'll be there.

As much as I applaud Ethan on his gig on Nightside, I am disappointed because it leaves him little time for SLCSpin. I look forward each day for his take on the local political scene. Always inciteful. Even when I occasionally think he's dead wrong.

Tom Barberi has never been fresh and rarely insightful. His only appeal is to the whiny, wanna' be intellectuals. If you don't think this is true, you're one of them. Please Tom, would you hold hands with Geraldo and fall of the face of the earth? Please?

...Oh, and by the way Bitchstang. I'll take you up on your "challenge." Give me an address and time. I'll check back during the week. Make it for some time this Friday or Saturday.

Pinto is a pussy! I think he has a serious drinking problem. He won't post anything he can't control on his site. Now he has deleted all of his post from this dialogue.

Poor Pinto!

I wrote the "Mustang" posting, above ("you want to fight? I'll fight you").

I'm not Mark Towner, but I was trying to channel the essence of Mark Towner, and have some fun with it. The Feeding and Care Instructions on his owners manual say that he requires gentle razzing to stay grounded.

Now that he has senselessly deleted his comments before and after my fake comment, an innocent bystander might think he actually wrote that.

He didn't write it.

But he probably thought it.

Mark Towner apparently believes that I am the source of some of the comments in response to this posting. I solemnly affirm that I am not.

I do not believe that anonymity is the solution to the problems we face in Utah politics.

My unwillingness to hide behind anonymous emails and postings makes me an easy target.

But I'd rather be targeted than volutarily take myself out of the fight out of fear.
