Governor Huntsman had a chance to show us what he is made of. Instead, he chose to reinforce a very dangerous status quo. He's just like all the others. Sure, he likes The Who, rides motorcycles, etc. etc. I don't dispute he's the coolest governor we've ever had. But he had an opportunity to leverage his popularity and power into some real advancements for Utah politics. Instead, he's dooming Utah to under- representation for decades to come. Looks like he finally swallowed that silver spoon. I hope he chokes on it.

I moved here a couple of months ago from Illinois. I'm less than impressed with Huntsman. But in Illinois, our flamboyant and powerful public servants usually move right from the state house to the Big House. I'll take this guy.

Maybe choke for a moment, see his life pass before his eyes, and then come to the understanding that he is really a Democrat.

He really would feel better afterwards.

You did not answer my question. What does "most feared blogger" actually mean? Is this something you call yourself, or did someone else give you this quote?

Please tell us all what exactly we have to fear from Ethan Millard?

Towner, did it ever occur to you that it's just a bit of radio schtick?

Trust me, you and your buddy Ridgway are the MOST feared.

Put the bottle down, go call AA, everything will be alright Mark.

If that doesn't work you can always threaten someone and deny it later.

Good morning bloggers, since I actually have a real job I need to sleep sometime.

To anonymous (hardly) and 12-step-Monkey, I did'nt realize Ethan has Kool-Aid drinkers as well, how quaint. What threats are you talking about? Show me one public post of any threat I have ever made. However, I'm not responsible for private emails of caution and concern being forwrded to others to be posted on public boards (lowest lifeform on the planet)

BTW the strongest drink I consume is Diet Coke, which is bad enough.

I disagree its the Govenor who would be holding things up. The process is what it is. I think its the Democrats holding the seat hostage in a bid to get a non-partisian panel.

I really don't have a problem with a non-partisian panel, but I don't think we have the time or political will to do it now. If the Democrats really want a fourth seat, play by the rules as they are now - then work for the next seven years to get a non-partisian panel.

I really think it will take them that long and even still the chance is slim they'll get their panel.

I think that any map will just fine, the legislature knows what its doing.

Even during the last round of reditrcting which was meant to zero out democrats they did take a State Senate Seat and House seat.

So, whats the big deal?

Make no mistake, Republican redistricting in 2002 was not as good an idea as they thought it would be. However, I also share Ethan's belief that Huntsman is not being just with this map. The biggest red flag for that came up today when Huntsman claimed that there was not enough time to have an independent commission redistrict. That kind of erroneous logic is reminiscent of the Bush administration's run-up to the war in Iraq (we have to invade NOW, before the summer, all the troops are there, blah, blah).
Why should we bend to Sennsenbrenner's schedule if 1) he's quitting anyway and he may just screw us. 2) When should we rush democracy? Isn't it worth taking the time to get right?
Also, to Towner: "most feared blogger" is, as anonymous said, is just radio schtik. Let go and realize that you don't have to engage in ad-homs to be a blogger. Realize that there is a difference between joking and annoyance (see Conrad Burns, yesterday's committee hearing).

Towner doing what he does best....bait, bait, bait. The best part about it is that everyone takes it just to get a rise from him.

Most Feared Blogger is exactly what it means. Most Feared by Towner. Still no threats to Ethan. Do you fear him Towner?

Someone else gave him the name by the way. Radio Schtick. Towner you should go Schtick IT!!!

By the way your blog sucks Towner. I could cut and paste news articles and then write one or two sentences about them too.
