Thank You, Pete Ashdown

Thank you for never uttering the words "this is how the game is played" but instead showing us what a campaign SHOULD be. How a candidate SHOULD raise money, how a candidate SHOULD communicate with constituents and for showing the openness and accessability that should be standard at all levels of government. Utah has a lot to be proud of in your campaign. In Washington D.C., you will finally give us represenatation that is not afraid to uphold values that run counter to the status quo.

I think it is admirable of Pete Ashdown to raise money for the hungry using his own funds -- and not for cash strapped politicians.

I'm trying to find out--did Pete Ashdown attend the anti-Bush rally? Did he speak?

I'm glad Mr. Ashdown had the class not to attend the rally. My understanding from the morning news is that Rocky had an opportunity to meet with the President and didn't do it. So I guess the old liberal mantra of "if we could just dialogue" is a sham. And Rocky shows his true colors - more about self-aggrandizement than meeting with the person with the power and discussing areas of concern. What a low-class showboater!

Did you see the freaky comments at utahamicus.blogspot.com? It looks like Rob is positioning Pete Ashdown as the next Messiah, which is probably a step up from U.S. Senator. Didn't Ashdown speak out against The Theocracy?

"How a candidate SHOULD raise money,"

I'm still trying to figure out the logic in that one. Please explain to me how raising $115,000 for a U.S. Senator campaign can be considered a model for success in the world campain fundraising. Because raising money for charity doesn't do anything to help win the air war.

Pete's a great guy, but he hasn't raised near enough to be effective in this race.

Hey El Great Corn Eater,

Not a messiah, just a great guy who has and shows great character.

Use some LDS scriptures and a dictionary and there is always someone who misses the point.

That's okay Beavis, I have a scripture for you too.
