RSL Owner Dave Checketts Does Not Read SLCSpin

If he did (and listened to my advice here and here), he wouldn't be in this awful mess. Business and politics are about relationships. This is where RSL failed. Real Salt Lake swooped in, started making demands, then started making threats, and now is deeply offended that no one wants to play with them.

serves him right. all their whining about privleged information and yet there has been no court action against the County, the Council, or the papers.

They went in all huffing and puffing and these pols sniffed out BS and called them on it.

It's too soon to judge about what's going to happen in terms of legal issue both for criminal and civil charges.

And what serves whom right? Compared to how many of the politicians have acted, Checketts has been an angel. He may have not managed to kiss the right asses so far but it's obvious anything short of ass kissing isn't getting this deal through. I wouldn't be happy to see government acting only when that kind of crap is involved.

BS factor 35, if you ask me (and I know you haven't, but I'll just go ahead and state my stupid opinion.) Checketts is trying again at marketting a losing cause: the Jazz early on (whose miraculous 83-84 season saved him his job and got him others), the Knicks, and now Real Salt Lake. Maybe if Real could buy a game or two he might have more luck in attracting fans.
