Mark Towner Has Gone Too Far

According to Bob Bernick Mark Towner lost his election and blamed Mike Ridgway. Whatever. Now he's gone to a judge and taken out a restraining order against Ridgway in part (he admits) to prevent Ridgway from attending the Utah GOP Convention Saturday. Ridgway is running against Senator Hatch. Towner also said he wants his $5000 dollars back. (the amount of money he spent on his failed campaign)

Towner kind-of sounds like Cody Judy.

I thought he resigned from the Republican Party, but I guess he was just having a temper tantrum. I have heard from several delegates that Towner was going to lose anyway.

Don't you get it Towner, your republican buddies lied to you about Ridgeway so they could get you off their backs.

Sorry Mark, but you have just recieved a hurts donut.

Taking away someone's first ammendment rights sucks!

The guy passes out papers and now he's a danger? Has Ridgeway ever beaten anybody up?

Don't those restraining orders say you can't be within so many feet of the person? Like 250 or something?
I'm sure Ridgeway could go to the convention and speak without getting within 250 feet of Towner.

Mark Towner isn't the only one that has slapped him with a restraining order for stalking.

Just ask Mike's ex-wife.

I attended the caucus meeting where Towner, Pickering, and Jarvis were campaigning to be our senate candidate.

All three made good presentations, but Jarvis was far-and-away the best. He was probably not the craftiest political shark in the room - but he had a obvious level of depth, kindness and seasoning that the others didn't. Maybe that comes with age and experience.

The flyer incident was a minor distraction but didn't influence my vote (I didn't read the flyer before voting).

Pickering was dropped after the first round of voting, leaving Towner and Jarvis in the second round. They each got an additional minute to speak, then we voted again and Doctor Jarvis won over 70 percent of the vote.

Towner seems sincere and focused. But Jarvis came across - to me, at least - as a better, more mature, more senatorial candidate.

Towner didn't lose because of a flyer. He just lost.

Jarvis won fair and square.
