Thank You

City Weekly's Best Of's are out and SLCSpin is on the list. Thank you to City Weekly, and thank you to everyone who keeps up with SLCSpin. The past year was great and I truly look forward to year two.

Congratulations on the win Ethan! Despite all of the lame ass, anti-Mormon and just plain stupid awards that City Weekly usually dole out...yours was a welcome and refreshing sight.

It's nice to see that your talent is being recognized.

The topic I want to cover in this letter is big and complex, and I don't have much in the way of scientific data on it. Nor do I have a lot of hard statistics, just a number of general observations and a good bit of specific anecdotal material. The rest of this letter is focused exclusively on Mr. Ethan Millard, not because I harbor any ill-will towards him but because at no time in the past did loud rubes shamble through the streets of cities, demanding rights they imagine some supernatural power has bestowed upon them. He supports a wide variety of demands. Some are gloomy; others are amoral. A few openly support expansionism. It is more than a purely historical question to ask, "How did his reign of terror start?" or even the more urgent question, "How might it end?". No, we must ask, "Where do we go from here?" If I'm not mistaken, there's a painfully simple answer. It regards the way that my current plan is to seek some structure in which the cacophony introduced by his protests might be systematized, reconciled, and made rational. Yes, Ethan will draw upon the most powerful fires of Hell to tear that plan asunder, but he has vowed that in the coming days he'll draw unsuspecting pikers into the orbit of self-aggrandizing, high-handed underachievers. This is hardly news; Ethan has been vowing that for months with the regularity of a metronome. What is news is that a plan of rational reaction to his shell games is unquestionably in order. That's self-evident, and even Ethan would probably agree with me on that. Even so, he shouldn't replace law and order with anarchy and despotism. That's just plain common sense. Of course, the people who appreciate his schemes are those who eagerly root up common sense, prominently hold it out, and decry it as poison with astonishing alacrity. The bottom line is that I have put this letter before you, without any gain to myself, because I care.

Anonymous' long "letter" read a bit like one of Rocky's "letters" to any of our fine local papers in good old SLC.

Quite an interesting and incomprehensible letter from Mr. Long Winded Anonymous above. If making general references to things none of us can understand or follow is an art form, my friend anonymous above is a genius. His esoteric writing and ranting have found a home in the halls of the most incomprehensible of us.

Thank you Mr. Anonymous above, for criticizing without content and wasting a few minutes of my life with your mind-numbing words.

By the way....when did establishing anarchy and up-rooting common sense find homes on SLCSpin. Seriously, if you are going to make such accusations you might want to back it up with examples and logical proofs. As of now my friend, you have emphasized form over substance...oh wait that is giving a little too much credit...my friend you have wholly substituted form for substance. NO ONE CAN EVEN UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT!!!! If this was a secret message to your secret society of friends written by use of the German ENIGMA machine...you my friend have created a cryptic message for the ages and accomplished your mighty goal.

I figured this one out.

1. From today's UPD: Unmasked!: Jim Bennett is revealed as the mother of all malicious ratbags and recalcitrant jackanapes.

2. Then link to here: http://jimbennett2006.com/2006/03/public-apology-for-anonymous.html

3. Then link to here: http://www.pakin.org/complaint/

What do you say Anon? I mean, that has to be it, right?
