Utah Democrats

Utah Democratic Party staffers Jeff Bell and Craig Axford have opened up shop at Utah Democrats. They have an interesting round up of this year's legislature. "Apparently, school’s not just for children anymore"- From Jeff Bell's post on education.

I highly doubt that the UDP would allow these bozos to post their own blog without the consent of those paying their salaries........or maybe the UDP knows about it and encouraged it! If so, they made a big mistake.

I don't think so. I find Bell's insights intriguing and fresh.

I called an expert. They told me that anonymous is non-other than James Evans.

"at least have someone who we can respect write like Karen Hale and Patrica Arent..."

The statement itself is somewhat elitist and sounds more like a personal problem. I would love for Karen and Patrice to start their own blog, or (hopefully) to post on mine. To disrespect Jeff, and Craig simply means you don't know them.

I find both Jeff and Craig highly respectable and intelligent.

Democrats believe in allowing the development of people's talents, not the restriction of them.

If there is a mistake, restricting Jeff and Craig would be even a bigger one. The biggest mistake would be to not respect all people (yes, that includes Jeff and Craig and even Mr. Evans).

I don’t think it’s elitist at all, the only the Democratic Party will advance in Utah is be exclusionary.

We are going to let some like a Craig, who was tossed out of the Green Party, can’t hold a real job outside of politics and represents the far left of the Democratic Party, speak for all democrats in Utah; sounds like a loosing proposition to me.

I know it kills the hierarchy of the democratic party in Utah to admit this, but we are more conservative than most other states and unless we embrace more conservative values within the democratic party (for example supporting amendment 3 on marriage) or give more backing to blue dog democrats, I really see the democratic party spinning out of control and loosing more seats in the legislature this fall.

Patrice and Karen were moderate to conservative democrats and carried swing districts; these are the type of people we need running for office and speaking for the party. Not members from the left wing.

It's like a big, awkward hug in here.

I would consider myself a "blue dog" democrat who feels well represented by the current leadership. What also intrigues me is how these diverse individuals have come together as a team. My perspective is this, we are finally on the right track as a party. To encourage those working with our leaders to act in a professional manner is proper. To be degrading and disrespectful only serves one purpose and seems divisive, and selfish. Humans have received a precious gift due to intelligent design: they can evolve. Ask yourself these questions. Do you really know these two men? Do they have talents? Can our leaders help to them develop these talents?

Yes, they can.
