Mike Ridgeway

Senator Orrin Hatch has a last minute Republican challenger. Mike Ridgeway is heavily involved in the Salt Lake County Republican Party. He is also very controversial. Some call him obsessive, others call him crazy. This should be a good time.

He might be like a challenger Gov. Leavitt had in 1996. At the state convention the guy walks out on the stage to give his speech with a bucket and a bumper sticker, he pretty much ran as a joke. If he makes it out of convention I'd vote for him (BHINH new political acronym for you Ethan). I'd still vote for Ashdown over this guy though.

Having Ridgeway in the race would make it less boring. He comes across like a conspiracy theory nut job. It's possible that the guy could force a primary like Leavitt's 1996 challenger did, but I doubt it. The same dynamics are not in play this time. Even if he did force a primary, PermaHatch would defeat him handily, just as Leavitt crushed his opponent in the primary.

Awwwww. Mike took his snotty comment off. C'mon, Mike, if you're going to make fun of Ethan's mom (who is a SAINT, by the way [you should be ashamed]) don't be too chicken to leave it up.
