Iron County Voter Registration Tampering

The St. George Spectrum ran an article Friday outlining alleged tampering with Democrat voter registration in Iron County. The investigation stems from a rash of newly registered Democrats (including a surprising number of Republicans trying to switch to the Democrat side) being listed not as Democrat, but as "not- affiliated". Iron County Clerk Dave Yardley insisted the problem is due to voters who incorrectly fill out the paperwork. The Spectrum left it at that. But a pending investigation may trace the problem directly to the County Clerk's office, where an employee was heard to say "I don't have the stomach to type DEM, so I'll just type UAF".

Ain't life in Utah grand? What a wholehearted embrace of the Founding Father's legacy.

Perhaps the Iron county clerk won't have such emotional distress filling out the employee's pink slip.

Ironically, it helps the DEMS more than it helps the REPS.

You see, when it comes time for the primary elections, you can't vote in the Republican primary if you aren't registered as a Republican. You can change your affiliation if you are "UAF" but not if you are "DEM."

So, Bob, how does that help Democrats?

I hate it when I don't finish my thoughts.

The Republicans did it to discourage Democrats from voting in, and ruining, primaries, thereby choosing the worst, or most beatable, candidate.

Therefore, by that logic, When DEMS get "accidently" listed as "UAF," it helps them out in the long run.

The logic doesn't make sense, but I'm trying to think like a Republican this afternoon.

Don't forget last year's Iron County Clerk scandal, when the Clerks office invalidated 600+ students from voting when they registered as DEMOCRATS! gasp!

*faint*

This is not the only voter registration tampering. Hasn't our current county clerk been accused of not typing in Republican when people send in their registration?

Corruption on both sides. Doesn't make it right, but it is interesting to note.

Republican,democrat,unaffiliated...it's all the same. every one of the top tier candidates are part of the same beltway machine that's been taking this country down the drain since before the civil war. The Dems want to take us there on a government bus,the Republicans want us to walk and drag the dems behind us,and the unaff's will drive us around in circles until we get dizzy and wind up there.Take your pick.
