Doug Wright

So the word has spread: Doug Wright is out. The full text of his bizarre press release was posted here yesterday. I recommend you read it as an example of the fact that anyone can write a press release. Wright is not right- Utah Conservative Radio host Wright will not seek GOP nomination for Congress- Tribune Radio host Wright won't run for Congress- Deseret News

Doug has openly stated that he has voted for Jim Matheson in the last three elections. This is reason enough for party loyalists (read state delegates) to does him out on the first ballot. This realization that he wouldn't get out of convention regardless of what the voters would do, is probably the reason Doug "reconsidered." This election Doug, show your colors and vote for Lavar for congress.

Just because Doug is frightened by people like Johm Swallow doesn't make him a bad guy, it makes him a responsible voter.

"Lesse .... Moderate Democrat or Loose Cannon Looney Tune Republican ... ?"

THAT IS BEING A GOOD CITIZEN. Blindly following a one party voting system leads to such disfunctional and corrupt institutions as, say ... The Utah Legislature.

I don't see how LaVar will excite anyone. He has no personality or charisma. Sure, he might be a dyed int he wool conservative - but is that enough reason to vote out Matheson? Probably not.

If Republicans were going to get rid of Matheson - it was in 2002 when he won by a handful of votes.

LaVar is just not that strong of a candidate and not that appealing. Plus - if he starts listening to consultants - he's toast. That's the problem Swallow had in 2004.
