So What About Pete Ashdown?

Now that Rep. Urquhart is out, Part of the Plan said: "Too bad…every moderate Republican I know supported him, and they had a ton of good reasons why Hatch should be retired" He then asks: "I wonder how many of them will now bite the bullet and get behind Pete Ashdown?" In a comment on a previous post, Shawn asks a similar question: "With everyone as dissatisfied as they are with Hatch, can we move beyond party affiliation and consider which candidate will better represent the interest of Utahns?"

Turns out, some of us who might be considered "moderate Republicans" have supported Pete Ashdown from the beginning. It would be nice if more joined in, though :)

With Urquhart you weren't getting a "moderate" republican. You were getting a conservative republican. A REASONABLE conservative republican to be sure, but not a moderate.

That's because most truely moderate Republicans in Utah:

1) HAve become Democrats, after becoming dissatisfied with the hijaking of their own party, or

2) Will soon do so.

Therefore, most normally conservative Republicans are labeled as moderate, because they are, compared to the extreme right wing.

If Utah is true to their beliefs, and to each other, then Pete Ashdown will be our next Senator.

Pete is the real deal!

However, for dreams to come true one needs to believe. The worth while dream of replacing Hatch can happen, but only if we take responsibilty and give Pete our finacial support.

Join the dream, some say the impossible dream, I say the very achievable dream! The best stories are the Cinderella stories. Utah needs a Cinderella story.

Anything is possible if we care to make a difference. Please, join in and help Pete's campaign.

Will you really miss that $100.00, or $50.00 or $20.00 when it is announced that Pete is "Senator Ashdown"? I think not. I waste more money on video rentals a month. There are so many ways to waste money, why let this good and honorable cause starve?

With every best wish,
