Great headline. And so true.

R.C. Willey just makes insane profits from high interest rates which people get saddled with when they finance crappy furntiture.

IKEA is very nice and will be huge there.

R.C. Willey is not a furniture store... it is a finance company. Just look at Berkshire Hathaway's annual report. IKEA will be a welcome competitor.

IKEA won't compete with RC Willey in the appliance or electronics business. IKEA also produces more of a "modernist" style of furniture with an emphasis on good design at a reasonable cost.

Most of what I have seen at RC Willey seems to be the overstuffed traditional look. The two styles aren't exactly interchangeable and the actual amount of direct competition isn't likely to be much.

It's good to be on the IKEA map, even if it's a few years off. Portland and Denver don't have IKEA stores yet.

Portland has an IKEA going in right near PDX Airport.
