2nd Congressional District

Mark E. Towner has written at Utah Policy that Rep. Lavar Christensen will definitely try for the Republican nomination for 2nd District. So it apparently looks like a matchup between Rep. Lavar Christiansen and professional mouth Doug Wright. The winner taking on Congressman Jim Matheson. Sounds like a good time.

Does anyone really think Wright has a chance in this?

He's not going to be able to raise money for this, and Matheson will win again.

This is simply an ego gratification for Wright. He'll actually need to take a stand on some issues - not be Mr. Wishy Washy like he is on his show.

You called Doug Wright a "professional mouth"?!! Have you ever witnessed LaVar entoning on the issues at the Utah Legislature? Pass the No-Doz!

At least LaVar knows the issues. Doug Wright is a moderate to liberal Republican. How is that better than a moderate to conservative Democrat in DC? The Utah GOP won't rally behind Wright, and he probably knows it, which is why Joe Cannon is going to be out campaigning for him, so they have a puppet to play with in DC.
