The Politics of District 3

Regarding the Salt Lake City Council District 3 race: My personal affiliations in this race have been clear for a while but below, I tried to do a more clear- eyed analysis of the candidates for City Council in District 3. I hope you find it interesting.

Incumbency is all Jergensen has. He was elected in the first place because folks in the 3rd District didn't know who he was other than someone that Polly Hart supposedly wronged. His only hope of reelection is for the same folks to not have paid attention to his tenure and just vote for the same dude. He just plain does not represent the views of the Avenues and Capitol Hill.

The flyer Janneke gave me says her web site is www.votehouse.org and the flyer that Derek gave me says that his web site is www.derekdyer.com.

They both sounded pretty good to me when I met them in person. Derek asked for help and I gave him some money (you should always give non-incumbent politicans money when you get the chance; they need it more than they will admit).
