More On Councilman Eric Jergensen

Here's another reason why District 3 likes it's moderate councilman and will most likely re- elect him District 3 likes to think of themselves as independent thinkers- so why would they elect someone to rubber stamp the mayor? Obviously, District 3 wants a candidate to stand up for the district, not join the Mayor's fan club. Just ask former candidate Polly Hart. District 3 is established and well- educated. They've chosen a Councilman who is mature, accomplished, and is Mayor Anderson's peer intelectually and professionally. Say what you will, but in a race between an artist a twenty something Rocky sycophant and Councilman Eric Jergensen, I think it's clear why District 3 will most likely re- elect Councilman Jergensen. He fits the district perfectly.

Eric represents my district and he does not fit me "perfectly." He was primary in torpedoing UTOPIA for Salt Lake City. UTOPIA is the carrier neutral service that would have brought fiber-optics to the homes of Salt Lake City residents. XMission is currently signing up dozens of UTOPIA customers a day in areas that had the foresight and the courage to go ahead with it.

Sorry, but if I wasn't already running against one person ignorant of the impact of technology, I would have taken on Eric in a heartbeat.

WTF? Do you even know anyone who lives in the 3rd District? Jergensen won because he ran on "Polly Hart is an anti-Mormon bigot!" just so then he could rubber stamp any MorgCorp position.

Remember his brave stance on naughty words in selected texts in the city book club? Yeah, that's totally representing the interests of the Aves and Cap Hill.

I agree with both these gentlemen. I've been an avenues resident for 20+ years and haven't known anyone to vote for Eric. My suspicion has always been that it's the 80 year old chicken littles that worry about the eternal consequences of voting in anyone without a temple recommend that have kept him in office.

Oh great another group of Utahns who think 'because I'm not Mormon I must be liberal', and 'The Mormons have mind melds on everyone in Utah'

Grow up you guys. Obviously Jergensen won because of majority. Somebody likes him and it is because of his accomplishments not just because he's Mormon.

Open your minds a little. Isn't that what you guys claim anyway? 'I'm not mormon so it is logical that I am the most open minded in Utah' PUUUHLEASE!

Go somewhere else if you don't like the conservative rhetoric.

Eric won the primary with 1,000 votes... wake up there are 14,000 people in 84103 alone. With Eric, crime is UP, Traffic is UP, Monster Houses are up... we don't need a gladhander.
