Mark Cuban Vs. Senator Orrin Hatch

Mark Cuban, owner of the Dallas Mavericks and blogger (it's true), has committed to fund any candidate who runs against Senator Hatch REGARDLESS OF PARTY AFFILIATION. Mark Cuban: "I'm not pro- anybody, I'm anti- Hatch!" Mark Cuban will be interviewed on this topic Friday by Brian Schott on KCPW. Listen online or to the podcast.

Anybody but [fill in the blank] campaigns only work when constituents are really disgusted with a candidate or what the candidate represents. While people might be tired of Hatch, I don't think the general sentiment rises to the level of disgust that would make such a campaign successful. Still, if the man is willing to fund Ashdown and Urquhart, it might make things more interesting.

Get as mad as you want and you can still legally give only $12,600 to a candidate in an election cycle, less if there's no primary or you're running against the toughest opponent in the primary.

And that's only if your spouse is behind you 100%.

Oh yeah...well...if Mark Cuban says Hatch should go...then by all means. I don't think I would exactly parade Cuban's support of my campaign around...I'd take his money though. :) Something like this may be helpful to a Hatch opponent to the extent it may bring you some attention - but really - Mark Cuban? I'd take his money and run away as fast as I could.
