Getting Fired

Whatever your opinion of the firing of Roger Ball, one aspect of the ongoing dialogue has me very annoyed. People constantly refer to the manner in which he was fired. He was given thirty minutes to clean out his desk and leave. That is standard practice. I feel bad for anyone that gets fired, BUT let's not feign offense at standard release procedures.

Roger Ball served in an politically appointed position, these positions have traditionally been staffed at the pleasure of the chief executive, in this case the governor. I think Huntsman in part decided to make a point of reasserting this right. And I agree with you, why do public employees deserve this special treatment that the private sector rarely offers.
